risen from the dead
it's been a while, to say the least. winter was long, dark, and cold; life was not terribly exciting throughout the winter. work, sleep, eat, work, sleep, work, oh, and did i mention work? i figured it was about time to let you know i'm still alive, just in case you were interested (though i understand if you weren't!).
so i was trying to remember all the books i've read in the past few months, and i found myself hard-pressed to do so. in any case, here's a good portion of what i've been reading (instead of updating this site).
Thieves in High Places - Jim Hightower
Bushwhacked - Molly Ivins and Lou Dubose
Dude, Where's My Country? - Michael Moore
Stupid White Men - Michael Moore
Downsize This! - Michael Moore
The Best Democracy Money Can Buy - Greg Palast
Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them - Al Franken
1984 - George Orwell
Animal Farm - George Orwell
Brave New World - Aldous Huxley
Harry Potter all five books - J.K. Rowling
Chronicles of Narnia all seven books - C.S. Lewis
We - Yevgeny Zamyatin
Watership Down - Richard Adams
It Took Heroes - Claude D. Newby
Josey Wales: Two Westerns - Forrest Carter
Number of The Beast - Robert A. Heinlein
Soggy Sneakers - Willamette Canoe and Kayak Club
i'm sure there are more that i've read, but i 've recently packed up a ton of my books in order to make room for more (can you tell i'm a serious bibliophile?) that i have on order. my life is books and research, though all the research i've done in the past year has been futile as of yet because the rants remain unwritten. i have lots of ideas, but they've not coalesced into something coherent quite yet. be patient--new rants are on their way, slowly but surely.
in the meantime, feel free to check out the photo albums, send me mail (use the webmaster link at the left) to suggest new topics for rants, let me know what you think, whatever you want. enjoy your visit!
